Mentor Program

Volunteer Job Description:

Mentor: A Trusted Friend, Counselor, or Teacher, usually more experienced than their student/mentee.

DO YOU FIT THIS DESCRIPTION? Would you like to know that because you took the time to invest in the life of a 14 year old student here in Horry County that they became successful, both personally and professionally?

If so, BE2 and EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL need you! Each student in this program has a mentor from the business community who spends at least one hour a week with their student in an interactive personal exchange that assists the student in academic, personal, and or professional success.

Hours are flexible based on schedule established between mentor and mentee-at least one hour per week of contact is required, and more is suggested. The schedule is at your discretion.

Mentoring is a personal opportunity to give life-changing help with multi-faceted service including possible tutoring, counseling, socializing, even teaching of basic social and business skills.

We are currently recruiting mentors to help our incoming class of students. Last year, every student had a mentor to enhance their educational experience. We try to pair the mentors with students that are interested in his/her career, and have built many successful mentor-mentee relationships this way.

Please contact Marsha Griffin or Harriett Rivers for more information about mentoring.

If you are ready to become a mentor, please apply online by filling out the mentor application.
