Mentor Updates
On February 29, Marsha Griffin and Tony Hirsh Mentor leaders are taking their mentors and mentees to Hard Rock Park, they will tour backstage, have a physics lesson on the roller coaster and a lesson on the economic impact of Hard Rock Park on Horry County and the state of SC.
Robert Blair, mentor leader is taking his mentor/mentee group to Channel 15 where he is head engineer, they will put together an evening news cast, Joel Foster will assist.
Tuesday Bebe’s mentor leader group is going Cosmic Bowling at Waccamaw Lanes; many other groups have exciting things on the burner.
Mallory Allessi is applying become a part of the Trio Group for Culinary Arts and the Wall street Wildcats under the tootaledge of Joe Rincione of Edward Jones are making their first real stock market investments this week, GOOD LUCK, Go Wildcats!
Leadership South Carolina will be joining Early College High School mentors and mentees on the HGTC campus on Feb 28 for lunch and roundtables about the concepts of Early College High School, should be fabulous, Bill Daggett will be speaking that morning on the future of education, all mentors are invited to attend, Burroughs and Chapin Auditorium 9-12, call Marsha Griffin for more information, 449-9675
AVX generously made another 50K donation to Early College High School this week, we are so pleased and the progress we are making because of donation such as these is unprecedented.
